Before we dive into the details, let's first clarify what temporary dentures actually are. Temporary dentures refer to temporary dental reconstructions that are put in place while you wait for your permanent dentures such as implants, crowns or bridges. They are used to ensure the appearance, function and comfort of your teeth during the treatment process.

With the digitally fabricated temporary restoration, our patient can try out how the final prosthesis will feel:

  • it naturally protects your own tooth under the crown.

 

The acrylic denture, i.e. the temporary denture, is identical to the final denture in every parameter:

 

  • In terms of aesthetics
  • With regard to chewing comfort

  • You can check the shade of the denture in approx. 90%
  • The temporary denture offers 100% tooth stump protection during the trial period

With the exception of the material, all parameters of the temporary correspond to the final prosthesis.

There are two types of temporary dentures in our dental practice: one that is attached to your own teeth, but it can happen that you no longer have your own teeth due to tooth extractions or implantations. Of course, we also offer a temporary prosthesis for the few weeks when you have no teeth.

Some patients come to us with the question of whether Sensitivity to heat and cold with your temporary dentures. Our answer to this is that this can only be the case to the extent that your own teeth are sensitive to it. Digital technology protects your own teeth without gaps.

Another question that arises concerns the Food. Raw vegetables and especially nuts can be eaten chopped, as no hard objects are possible due to the plastic.

The dentures are also attached with a temporary adhesive that is not stable. It is therefore necessary to pay attention to hard objects when biting during this time.
