Inlay onlay
An inlay or onlay is a form of dental prosthesis. Inlays are inlay fillings, onlays are so-called partial crowns. They are particularly suitable for treating small and medium-sized defects where there is still sufficient healthy tooth enamel. Modern inlays, such as those used at the Denis & Focus Dental Clinic, not only meet the highest demands in terms of bite resistance and durability, but also aesthetics and compatibility.
The biggest advantages:
- they do not shrink
- they are not worn out
- Long-term protection
- Aesthetic replacement
For a long time, gold was considered the best material in dentistry because it is antibacterial and closes well. However, the production of dental restorations from gold is very expensive, which is why dentistry turned to zirconium and G-Cam. The positive properties correspond to those of gold and are also very aesthetic.
Ceramic inlay - ceramic filling (F1, F2)
The decision as to whether the tooth defect needs to be treated with an inlay or an onlay depends on how much healthy tooth structure is still present, as the difference between inlays and onlays lies in the amount of tooth structure replaced.
Inlays made from G-Cam - the advantages
- G-Cam is composite with carbon reinforcement - very easy to process digitally
- Metal-free and biocompatible
- Thanks to the digital technology there is perfect marginal protection, there is no secondary caries
- Antibacterial
- does not discolor, it does not absorb odors.
