Dental treatments, including also Implantation measures are not major interventions, but under certain conditions they can still pose a risk to your well-being.
Important facts
Particular attention must be paid to blood-thinning medication taken in the case of various cardiovascular diseases. Patients taking such medication may experience severe bleeding during certain dental treatments. Taking blood-thinning medication does not rule out general dental treatment or implantation. However, close interdisciplinary cooperation between the dentist and general practitioner is very important.
Under no circumstances should the patient abruptly stop taking these medications of their own accord, but should consult their GP, who will discontinue the medication if necessary and replace it with other drugs.
